失業、貧窮與政府的承擔
這份簡短的報告撮錄了各位講者在「失業、貧困與政府的承擔」政策論壇上的發言。該論壇乃香港中文大學社會科學院及香港亞太研究所合辦之「公共政策論壇」系列之其中一次研討會。會上各講者、評論員及嘉賓均對當前經濟轉型下之民生、就業及相關之社會政策發表了意見。其中對再培訓及綜援金會否「養懶人」之問題更有深入之討論。會上多位講者均肯定政府在面對貧窮及失業等問題有所承擔及有一定的角色。
Unemployment, Poverty and Social Policy
This report summarizes the presentations of and discussion among guest speakers in the public policy forum on "Unemployment, Poverty and Social Policy." The meeting was one of the six policy forums jointly organized by the Faculty of Social Science and the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Guest speakers expressed their concerns and views about people's livelihood, employment and relevant policy initiatives. In particular, issues concerning the retraining programme and the debate about welfare dependence were thoroughly discussed.
